Environment

RLC pursues development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This, under the definition espoused by the Brundtland Commission 1987, is "sustainable development" in the context of this page.

Directors of the Company require that management:

  • Selects development projects which have potential to realise financial rewards for share holders, local communities and future generations and terminates projects which do not.
  • Engages appropriately qualified and experienced people to perform all Company related work.
  • Minimizes environmental impacts of all operations by design and implementation, completes appropriate remediation and rehabilitation of all sites where necessary and monitors all sites which have required remediation or rehabilitation until such time as the site is stabilised and rehabilitation is complete.
  • Operates only with the informed consent of land owners and local communities.
